Nickel 200 / Alloy 200 is a commercially pure nickel grade with high purity, high ductility, easy formability and strong corrosion resistance, especially in caustic alkaline environments. Thanks to its high thermal and electrical conductivity, it is used not only in chemical processing but also in electrical-electronic and special equipment applications.

Nickel 200 / Alloy 200 is a commercially pure nickel grade that offers high ductility, good formability and stable corrosion resistance at low and moderate temperatures. It has good weldability and can be welded using conventional methods such as TIG, MIG and shielded metal arc welding; however, surface cleanliness before welding and the selection of a suitable nickel-based filler metal are important. Its machinability may be more challenging than stainless steels because its ductile structure can cause chip adhesion and work hardening during machining. Therefore, sharp tools, suitable cutting speeds and effective cooling are recommended. In terms of service temperature, Nickel 200 / Alloy 200 is generally preferred up to approximately 315–316°C; for long-term service above this temperature, low-carbon Nickel 201 should be evaluated as a more suitable alternative.
